Question : Outlook 2007 - Exchange 2007 Migration issue with Contacts

I am migrating from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007.
Several users are reporting the following problem.
Emails are bouncing back from the Exchange 2007 server with the following error.

Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists:
The format of the recipient's e-mail address isn't valid. A valid address looks like this: [email protected]. Microsoft Exchange will not try to redeliver this message for you. Please check the e-mail address and try sending the message again, or provide the following diagnostic text to your system administrator.

I have narrowed it down to some of the contacts in the user accounts.
I do not receive a bounce back when sending from OWA.
If I delete the contact in that user's mailbox and recrete it, problem goes away.
There are way to many mailboxes and contacts to use this as a fix.
Is there a utility or some configuration in exchange 2007 that will make this error go away?
