Question : How to start Backup Server

  i m restoring a database from a dump file. doing so i encountered the following error:

Line 1:

Can't open a connection to site 'SYB_BACKUP'.  See the error log file in the SQL Server boot directory.

Server Message:  Number  7205, Severity  18

i know that the backup server must be started i.e. 'SYB_BACKUP' but how???

Answer : How to start Backup Server

If on Windows NT:

Open up "Control Panel/ Services" (NT) or "Control Panel/Admin Tools/Services" (2K). There should be an entry "Sybase BCKServer". Start the service. Check the backup server starts correctly by looking in the the backup server error log.
