Question : Lotus Notes: "NSD is running" error

Has anyone running Lotus Notes encountered the "NSD is running" error prompt? This issue typically occurs when I attempt to send emails to groups. I am running Lotus Notes version 6 (Release 6.0.2CF1). This issue is driving me insane!!

I should also note that I emptied my Windows temp files, as well as my temp IE files, then I ran an updated version of Spybot and Adaware and ran a virus scan. I rebooted, cold booted, and even prayed... all to no avail. I have not installed any new applications of late. My system is a Dell 1.8 GHZ processor with 512 megs of ram, running Windows 2000 w/ SP4.

HELP!!!!!!

Answer : Lotus Notes: "NSD is running" error

Carshes during mail sends ususally come about from a bad address book -- either the server Directory or your personal Contacts.

So, I would rebuild yoru personal address book, and try sending messages in offline mode.  If that helps, we've at least narrowed it down.

Going offline: Make a local replica of yoru server mail file.  Edit your Location document mail tab to say "local" instead of server - you may also have to change the filename, if you did not copy your mail file to teh same relative path and filename as teh server had, i.e., mail\mrfighter

New contacts file:
File -> database -> New
Title: My New Address Bok
File: newnames.nsf
Template: Personal Address Book

Create teh file, then copy ONLY the current LOCATION document.  You can find teh location doc in teh old one by opening contacts, clicking on the Advaced button, and choosing locations.  Highlihht the current one (probably OFFICE, same as the name on the lower right of your screen).  Edit -> Copy.  Go to the same place in the new file and [aste.

Now, you have to start using teh new instead of the old.  Close Notes, go to the data directory of Notes, rename the old names.nsf to oldnames.nsf and the newnames.nsf to be names.nsf. Start Notes again.
