Question : Runas for fileserver access?
|
|
I can do a runas /user:[email protected] "mmc dsa.msc" but not cmd start \\fileserver\share
Also, when I simply type start \\fileserver\share in the runas box I still seem to access it via the non elevated account.
Anybody know how to do this? I have to use RUNAS for everything now.

It would appear that the non elevated account has sufficient rights to access the \\fileserver\share and there is no need to use the runas command.
This means that on fileserver the share, on both the share tab and security tab has either your non elevated account or a group that your non elevated account is a member of, appled to it granting it permission to access the share.
Yes to run certain tools like DSA.MSC you would use the runas function, but it would not seem to be for accessing the network share.
