Question : Dell OpenManage Active Directory Extensions installation not taking affect?

Hi,

I am trying to get Server Administrator working on my DC. DC is Windows 2003 R2 X64.

It is installed but I can't log in. For this it seems I need to enable Active Directory support by extending the Schema and extending the AD Users and Computers console.

Extending the schema was successful, but after I installed the Dell Active Directory Extensions (for the AD console) when I go into AD Users and Computers then there is nothing under new.

I am suppose to be able to right-click a container, select new and the should be an option saying "new dell object" but there isn't.

Have restarted DC and have also tried installig on another DC but nothing.

I installed it via DVD -> Dell OpenManage Management Station -> Active Directory Snap-in Utility.

?

Answer : Dell OpenManage Active Directory Extensions installation not taking affect?

Problem is with X64 version of Windows Server.

The snapin installed via the DVD is for 32bit. A 64bit is however provided to be installed manually from the DVD's folders. I tried it and it still doesn't work - I think it is for IA64, not X64.

I installed the x86 version on another windows 2000 DC and it worked.

I assume it would also work if you install the AD Users and Computers on a wokstation with X86 Windows XP (using adminpak.msi from windows) and then install the x86 snap-in - just in case someone else has same issue.
