Question : Ghosting Machines leads to Blue Screen after Reboot
|
|
I am ghosting a lot of Dell GX1 machines with Windows 2000. After Ghosting, the machine starts up and the Windows Splash screen appears momentarily followed by a dark blue screen with the following message:
Stop: 0X0000007B
Inaccessible_Boot_Device
Check for viruses on your computer
Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers
Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated

If you have an existing GX1 that works, check the drive. Is yours located on the same controller, slot, etc? Are the jumpers set the same? Even if you can't be sure that the other GX1 was created using that image, it would only take 5 minutes to verify.
Drive settings seem more likely to me than drivers, although chuckyh is correct in suggesting that the wrong image would give a similar error.
