Question : To remove backup replica server completely from public folders

All our Exchange 2003/SP2 are running on Windows 2003/SP1.
We have a public folder server with a backup replica server which is in a different Routing Group.
This was a backup replica for few critical folders of our Public folder server. This server crashed due to Hardware issues. Recovered the server using Disasterrecovery switch. Before reinstalling this server, I removed this server from all the replica list on our public folder server and restarted the exchange services and then server too. But still it generates the replication messages in 1000's. Even if I delete those emails from the Queue, it gets queued up again after the server reboot. Where is this information stored? How can I  remove the replica completely.

Now we want to split the database. So we need to bring this server on line. How can I remove the

Answer : To remove backup replica server completely from public folders

You must not have removed all the replicas from the public folders. You will have to go through the replicas again and remove them. Don't forget to look at system folders as well. Once you have removed the replicas the traffic should be cleared.

What you may also be seeing is ESM's poor handling of high levels of queues. If there are lots of messages being sent then ESM cannot display them all.
