Question : To Migrate Outlook 2007 Address Cache File - Which File is it?
|
|
I want to rebuild a laptop from Vista Ultimate to Vista Enterprise. However, I want to save the cache file that contains all the addresses I have typed into Outlook 2007. My plan is to use Windows Easy Transfer to migrate all my data but don't know if that includes this cached file so to be on the safe side, I thought I could copy it and paste it into new build.
Has anyone done this type thing in the past? What's your experience or thoughts?

Hello llib21,
The addresses are kept in outlook.nk2 or .nk2 file. In Vista, it is located in C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook folder. Go to Windows Explorer > Organize > Folder and Search Options > View tab and select Show hidden files and folders.
it is a hidden folder, so you have to unhide hidden folders.
Hope this helps! war1
