Question : Exchange 2007 Transition - Final cutover tasks

I am ready to transition from Exchange 2003 to 2007. After I move the mailboxes and a shared calendar I would like to simply shut the old Exchange server off as I dont want to wait weeks for everything to replicate over. Is there a need to wait in this case? Here's my question: After I get the mail flowing can I simply shut off the old 2003 Exchange server?

Answer : Exchange 2007 Transition - Final cutover tasks

You shouldn't just shut down an Exchange server, as Exchange will expect the server to still be there. If you want to remove the server then you need to remove it correctly, using add/remove programs after following the Microsoft guide. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288905.aspx

I haven't had to wait weeks for everything to replicate across, a few days at most, depending on the content size. You must replicate the system folders otherwise your clients will not function correctly.
