Question : Redirect Outlook Anywhere client to local xml for correct autodiscover url
Folks,
My company has been acquired and subsequently, users' primary SMTP addresses are now
[email protected]
instead of
[email protected]
. Exchange services (OOF, OAB download, free/busy) are now broken for off-LAN non domain-joined Outlook Anywhere clients. The trouble is our public DNS record for autodiscover is autodiscover.oldcompany.co
m and when an Outlook Anywhere client attempts to access an Exchange service, the client appends the request with the new primary SMTP domain, NewCompany.com.
I've tried steps from various posts on forcing the client to use a local xml file and redirecting Exchange service requests to the correct URL, but the information I've found is inconsistent, e.g., some suggest modifying the local hosts file and some don't, some suggest eight registry additions and some suggest just two, but the bottom line is it's not working.
Thanks,
Greg
