Question : Ho do I Convert an eight digit number/general formatting to date?
I have large amounts of data which I receive in form of an excel spreadsheet which i must load into a Microsoft Access table. One column of data contains an eight digit number (general formatting) which represents a date (i.e. 20080715 or July 15th, 2008). I need to convert the entire column of numbers to dates. Unfortunately this is the only way the data can be exported to me and I will have to perform this task on a monthly basis. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Alternatively, go to Data-> Text to Columns -> Next -> Next -> Choose Date: YMD.
Hope that helps!
