Question : Document Management Encrypted Files

When a user attempts to retrieve a word document using the "open" function, the only options available under file type are "all files" and "document manager encrypted files", with the latter being the default.  File type is changed to "all files", which produces the expected list, however when user tries to open a selected document she gets a message "Enter a passphrase to decrypt [file name]".  We do not use encryption and cannot fathom how to address this.  Files can be opened as normal when selected from the recent files menu, and also when opened using Windows explorer.  

We are using Windows XP, Word 2003 and Infinity Law Document Management.
