Question : Mac G5 doesn't load OS
I have a user with a Mac G5 with Tiger loaded. The machine powers on, says it's loading OSX, and then goes to a gray screen with a search magnifying glass in the upper right corner. Other than that I've got nothing.
I've started it up in single user mode, and ran /sbin/fsck -fy and it said it reparied/modifed the system, after a reboot still the same problem. Also tried to boot for the OSX install CD, but it just ejects the CD. We've also loaded it as a firewire device on another Mac G5 and attempted to do a repair, but it said it was fine. What else can we try?
Answer : Mac G5 doesn't load OS
Attached a firewire drive with an OS installed to boot to, then did an archive and re-install. That did the trick.
