Question : Abnormal Random Windows 2000 Shutdown

Windows 2000 randomly shuts down while working on it.  The error message is:  This system is shutting down.  Please save all work in progress and log off.  Any unsaved changes will be lost.  This shutdown was initiated by NT Authority\System


The System process c:\windows\system32\services.exe terminated unexpectedly with status code -1073741819.  The system will now shut down and restart.

Could be a virus, perhaps a variant of Sasser worm. Update your antivirus and scan the full system. Also, you can download AVG Antispyware and do a complete scan with that: http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
