I have Windows XP on my system and I don't know if it is authentic.  Can I buy windows xp (home or pro) and install it on my computer without a problem.

As far as your basic question - XP Home is fine if you are not going to ever want to have it in a "Domain" environment.

I used to ALWAYS recommend ONLY XP Pro, but have been well educated by some folks here - and my new civilian customers.

XP Home is just fine -- if it is truly in a home environment.

The OEM license carries some restrictions with it, and I am not well-versed in the details.

I love using eBay, but on rare occasion I have been burned by a dishonest seller.
