Question : Help configuring push email with SSL and exhchange in Windows Mobile 6
|
|
- For the first time we are trying to setup push email with Exchange running on our 2003 Small Business Server Premium SP2. Please bear with us we have never set this up before. I believe the problem is with the commom name with choose setting up the SSL CA we used the netbios name of the server: ms2003server
( we installed the cert under the Default website, using the steps from this link: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Exchange-2003-Mobile-Messaging-Part1-Microsoft-DirectPush-technology.html )
- this functionality is just for a couple of individuals who use the ip address in the browser to connect to the server (we don't have dns setup for url resolution )
- the error on the WM6 phone is: certificate is invalid

Correct, you cannot BUY a certificate for a domain your don't own - but you can make one :)

The easiest thing to do is add a host on your already registered domain, point it at your IP address and then buy a certificate, but you have the other option above.
