Question : Find competitors top 10 inbound links by highest Google page rank

I'm going to take our top keywords, do a Google search and record the top 10 sites in the search results for each keyword. I then want to somehow analyze the top inbound links to each site by each inbound link's highest google pank rank. The goal would be to get these top inbound links to link to my site also. The first step can be done manually.  Finding all the inbound link's page ranks is another story.  Is there anyway software/service that could help me do this?  Does this sound like a good idea?

Answer : Find competitors top 10 inbound links by highest Google page rank

Mfredin:
- what you want to achieve is certainly a good idea, although doing it manually would be quite consuming
- the problem then is to find a tool that could automate this process or a similar one... the absence of answer hints that if any exists, it is not well known and therefore you will need to wait so that more experts have had a chance to read your question and find into their own personal knowledge some tool.

- there are tools that allows to find inlinks of a given page, more precisely Yahoo proposes an API that could help you to do that, called from some PHP or ASP page
http://developer.yahoo.com/search/siteexplorer/V1/inlinkData.html
- you could probably also use a tool like backlinks master from cleverstats at http://www.cleverstat.com/en/backlinks-software.htm which will give you for all the pages you listed the backlinks they get (be careful, this is running for a long time!)
- there are also tools that allows to find the PR of any page, eg PaRaMeter from the same Cleverstats at http://www.cleverstat.com/en/page-rank-software.htm
- from the same cleverstats, you might use free monitor at  http://www.cleverstat.com/en/google-monitor-query.htm which allows for each of the keywords to find all the answers to a Google query (as well as the rank of a given site for this query, and the list of competitors)
- and finally you might also use link popularity check from Axandra at http://www.axandra.com/free-link-popularity-check.htm
Note however that for this last tool they give as Google backlinks the "official" Google thing, which in fact highly underestimates the number of real inlinks.
