Question : Blacklining Software?

First, I hope I have the right software type.

I have an attorney client who is looking for software to apparently "black out" blocks of text or something.  He first suggested he wanted to get "CompareRite" but after a quick search, that software is no longer made and out dated.  (see link below).  Can anyone recommend comparable software, especially that is compatable with WordPerfect Office 11?

Thanks

Answer : Blacklining Software?

are these documents to be printed, then handled? or sent as files with the text blacked out? If it's just printed, what you can do is use the highlighting features and highlight the desired text in black, effectively blacking out the text. If you're sending these files electronically and need to censor them that's a different tool altogether. See http://www.computerworld.com/securitytopics/security/story/0,10801,101582,00.html

also, If you're using MS Word there's a free add-on for redactions. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=028c0fd7-67c2-4b51-8e87-65cc9f30f2ed&DisplayLang=en

For tools related to law check http://www.law.com/jsp/article.jsp?id=1036630382605. I've seen Redax in use, it's expensive and i think it may only work on PDF's, but its good. http://www.appligent.com/products/redax/redax.php

hope that helps some.
