Question : Restore of System
|
|
Hi
I have a Windows SBS 2003 Server and the hard drive went corrupt.
I have reinstalled windows and put service pack 2 on and all the updates.
I have a backup made using Backup Exec and I want to restore it.
Just wondering what the process is, i have tried numerous times without success.
After doing the above i installed Backup Exec and tried to attempt a restore but an error occurred and on reboot windows would not start.
Second time i went in to Directory Service Restore mode and tried to use Backup but that failed too and on reboot windows would not start. Backup Exec did not work in restore mode.

So far I have gathered that your SBS 2003 server failed.
You have a backup tape available with the latest full backup. You attempted to rebuild the server with SBS software and have added all the patches/service packs. You attempted to install the Backup Exec software, but encountered an error. You restarted the SBS server after the error and now the server is not working.
Have you followed the steps listed here? http://www.microsoft.com/smallbusiness/support/articles/backup_restore_sbs2003.mspx
