You can put the quick launch tool bar anywhere you want to slick, even next to the clock.
But it does appear that Rogers is wanting to remove an item from the systray.
Those icons be loaded from several places. If you do not want the program to run at all on start up, then there are two places to look.
1. (this one may have already been mentioned) Click on the start button, scroll to settings, then taskbar and start menu. Click on the Start Menu Programs tab, click the remove button. Scroll to the StartUp folder and click on the + to expand it.
If the item you are looking for is there, then move it to wherever you want it. I have a folder on my desktop called "NoStart" that I put those in, and I can always add it back if I want to.
2. If you don't see the item you are looking for there, then you can run regedit from the Start/run command line.
Note: If you are unsure of what you are doing with the registry ( even if you are sure). you should make a backup first. Click on Registry/Export Registry File and name it something like RegBack111299.reg or whatever.
Regedit is similar to Explorer, but be warned that changes you make to the entries here are immediate.
Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version, the click on the Run key (the key is used here instead of folder).
Look for the item of interest in the right hand pane. If it is there, you can right click it, and delete it. However, just in case you want it back at some future date, you should Export the Run key, and then delete the item.
You might also need to look in the RunServices key to find the item you are looking for.
