Question : Problems with Outlook 2000 and Windows Mail on Vista Home
I have been trying to use Outlook 2000 on a new Vista Home computer with the intention of trabsferring all old data from another computer. After much struggling I was finally able to install Outlook. I was able to transger some of my data from the old Outlook installation on a 2k system. I then attempted to transfer the Contacts. This I did successfully but found I was unable to use them when sending messages. I tried transferring my contacts to Wundows Mail instead but everytime I tried I received a blank error box with no details of what the error was. I cannot do anything in Windows Mail without getting this blank error box with a red cross on it. I gave this up and went back to trying to complete my data transfer of Outlook PST files and now this will no lobger work. I receive an error message that an interface error has occured. So, I have somehow managed to screw up both data transfer into Outlook 2000 and into Windows Mail.
I am aware that there are compatability issues with Outlook 2000 and Vista but can anybody suggest a solution to this problem?
Answer : Problems with Outlook 2000 and Windows Mail on Vista Home
The problem is that Outlook 2000 is not supported in Vista. So some functions do not work. My suggestions is a workaround to move emails from server to Outlook 2000.
