Question : Vista PaperPort Installation Errors

I am working on a Vista laptop where the woman said she started to install PaperPort on it but stopped in the middle for whatever reason - since then she could not get the system to install or uninstall the software; it keeps asking for the CD.  It also comes up with an error that says "String PRODUCT_NAME was not found in string table."  I have tried to manually remove everything that has to do with Paperport on the system plus in the registry.  Thoughts?
