Question : I can't boot windows xp sp2

i have a laptop HP nx 6110 and i want to format it when i put the WIN xP Pro. CD  (and it is bootable CD ) in Disk drive cant boot and retaine to windows agine disk Drive is working i use other CD and it working but WIn Xp Pro cd not booting to start formatting and installing  windows
