Question : Learning WSS/Sharepoint

Can I install any version of WSS or sharepoint on a development laptop for learning purposes? Please advise. Thanks.

Sharepoint requirements are to run on Windows Server 2003.

You can however, virtualize a server os on your laptop (which I assume is XP) and then be able to run Sharepoint in that manner.

You can use virtual PC from microsoft & get a trial of Server 2003 on a VHD (Virtual Hard Disk) and your off.
