Question : Differential backup job failed.

Hi,
I tried to run the differentail backup today and got this message
Job ended: 30 March 2009 at 16:36:12
Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xe0000307 - Microsoft SQL Server supports only full backups of the master database. Differential and transaction log backups are not supported.

Final error category: Resource Errors

so does this mean i have to do a full backup of SQL even when running a diff backup?

Answer : Differential backup job failed.

Only for mater database  you will need to do a full backup. I have created another policy to perform full backup of master dataase while another policy to perform differential backups for other databases.
