Question : Payment Gateway Services

I have a website and I would like to integrate an online
payment services as part of the features of my website.
The main purpose is to get members to register to my
organization + do payment by credit card.

Two services which I am familiar with is:
www.paypal.com
www.worldpay.com

However I need some advice and useful tips regarding about
the online payment services. Your help is kindly
appreciated.

Answer : Payment Gateway Services

The best payment gateway software I have seen is Authorize.net.. if you goto their site they have a

list of merchant card service providers.  You can negotiate gateway, service, and setup fees.

With Authorize.net you just either post to their credit card processing script with the information

and they return whether it was authorized or not.

You can also use a form provided by them- if you don't have a secure server.
Post transaction info to that form and they collect the billing information.

Cybercash is another option but I have heard some really bad service stories with them.

PayPal is a new service but AFIAK they require you to use their payment page.. but they are the cheapest of

the services on the web.  Free setup, no monthly fees and lowest per transaction rates I have seen.

Usually you don't host the payment gateway software unless you really want to.  the card service provider

will - like Authorize.net.  you can lease or purchase the software but don't host it.
