Question : How to install PowerShell v2 (CTP 3) onto Windows Vista

I have a Windows Vista Ultimate version 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 6001
I wish to install Windows PowerShell v2.0. I searched the Internet and found nothing that helped. They say to uninstall version 1.0 before installing 2.0 CTP but when I goto Program Uninstall there is no entry for Windows PowerShell as they state it should be. I do see in "Turn Windows Features On and Off" and entry to disable / enable Windows PowerShell and I tried to install with v2.0 after disabling and it did install into version 1's directory. When I enabled Windows PowerShell, version 1 was reinstalled some how. Does anyone know the proper way to install v2 on Vista?

Answer : How to install PowerShell v2 (CTP 3) onto Windows Vista

To install Windows PowerShell v2 CTP 3 do the following.

1. Open the Control Panel and select "Uninstall a program"
2. When the Uninstall window opens select "Turn Window features on or off".
3. When the Window Features dialog opens, find "Windows PowerShell" and remove the check in the check box.
4. Click on the OK button. This operation will take a few min before it closes.
5. Now install the new version of PowerShell v2 CTP 3
6. Once it is installed you are done.

Warning: Do NOT go back and enable the feature, that action will reinstall the older version.
