Question : WinXP Pro SP2, IE7 Runtime Error
|
|
On my WinXP Pro SP2 system, using IE7, some pages cause a small error window to appear with the window title being simply "Error", a red circular X, the multi-line text "A Runtime Error has occurred." "Do you wish to Debug?" "Line: 1" "Error: Invalid Character" , and Yes & No pushbuttons. Most of the time, clicking either Yes or No allows the page to continue loading (although often the error window re-appears several times while the page is loading) (and clicking Yes does NOT invoke any debugger), but sometimes, the page will just hang and refuse to load any further. I have totally uninstalled and re-installed all Java components, but the problem persists. Can anyone suggest anything else I can try to fix this??

Answer : WinXP Pro SP2, IE7 Runtime Error

Thats just going to get rid of the message, but try going into IE>Tools>Options>Advanced and select Reset IE, and click yes you are sure, and then reboot.
Also, there should be an icon in your start men to launch IE (no addons)....
If it works without the addons loaded, then you can isolate which one could be the culprit, by disabling them one at a time, under IE>Tools>Addon Manager>
