Question : DFS and PreExisting Data how to I merge them?
|
|
I just setup a DFS replication group between 3 servers:
Server1 Server2 Server3
Server 1 has the data I wanted to initially replicated to Server2 and Server3. Server 2 already had data on it that Server1 did not so it was moved to a PreExisting folder. How do I now get that PreExisting data to show up as live current data on all the servers?

I would do the procedure here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290762
It may refer to domain controllers, but the procedure is the same for all DFS/FRS roots.
Just stop all the FRS services on all replica sets. Put a good copy of the data in the actual FRS root folder. Then set the burflags to d4 and start that FRS.
On all DFS servers, set the burflags to d2 and start frs. All the data should replicate properly after that.
