Question : Cannot manage remote computer
|
|
Hi Experts,
I'm confused. I have some computers(a) in my domain that I cant manage remotely but other computers(b) I can manage without a problem. Both a and b computers can access networked resources, firewall is on, and I have admin rights to all computers. However computers(a) I cant ping and get an error Computer cannot be managed network path not found when I try to manage computers(a). What am I missing?
Thanks in advance.

The GP can take 90 minutes to apply, try gpupdate /force on the server to force the update right away. You might want to run Microsoft's Group Policy results tool to see if they were applied: http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/tools/existing/gpresult-o.asp
Also that GPO configures "Allow users to connect remotely using Terminal Services" in their profile but I believe it has no effect on adding them to the remote users group on the TS device. Unless they are an administrator (allowed by default) they have to be added.
