Question : How do I convert a DNS zone to the new "AD-Domain" storage type versus "AD-Legacy"?
Greetings -
I have a number of DNS zones that are presently stored using "AD-Legacy" mode in my Active Directory forest. I know that as of Server 2003, the old "CN=MicrosoftDNS,CN=System
,DC=..." is no longer used and that two new DNS naming contexts are used for zone storage. I believe these are called "ForestDNSZones" and "DomainDNSZones".
For these zones I have that are still stored in the MicrosoftDNS context (AD-Legacy), how do I convert them to the new storage contexts? I'm assuming there is a straightforward way to do this.
Let me know if you need any other information. Thanks in advance!

There is, open the properties for the zone. Select Change next to scope, make it either "All DNS servers in the AD Domain", or "all DNS servers in the AD Forest". Those are DomainDNSZones and ForestDNSZones respectively.
