Question : How to add/delete icons at bottom of Desktop screen in Vista.

Hi,
How to add/delete icons at bottom of Desktop screen in Vista.  This was so straight forward in XP, but is a mystery to me in Vista.  e.g. I want to delete the icon showing in my taskbar at the bottom of the Desktop.  Please advise.

Thanks,

All right, then it is in what was in previous versions of WIndows called the "system tray", but is since Windows XP called the notification area.  In order to actually delete that icon you would have to remove the Logitech device or program connected with it.  Or maybe there is an option in the program or device to not show the icon on computer start up.  You can also hide the icon without removing the device or program associated with it (because you want to keep it) by right clicking the taskbar, choosing properties, and clicking on the Notification Area tab.  You can put a check mark next to Hide Inactive Icons and then click the Customize button in order to access a list of all icons that have shown up in the Notification Area. This is broken down into two lists: those icons that are currently showing in the Notification Area, and those that have shown up in the past but are not currently there now. For each icon, you click to access a drop down list to choose Hide when inactive, Hide, or Show.
