Question : Creating preconfigured remote assistance invitations in vista
|
|
I like to use remote assistance to help users but currently I have to go to DHCP and find the computer name or IP address to connect to. I don't want users to have to send me an invitation - with remote desktop I had preconfigured .rdp files all set up.
Is there a way to have something similar with remote assistance? It would be great to have folders for all my users worldwide and be able to click straight in and help them!
Thank you.

Remote Assistance invitations will expire, so having precanned ones isn't going to be any use to you.
You could setup a small script for the user to run that could do an IPCONFIG /all then save it to your desktop. Open it up to see what the info is.
