Question : XP Pro Blue Screen at Bootup
|
|
Troubleshooting XP Pro Blue screen at bootup.
User is unable to logon to his notebook in normal or safe mode. System boots up to Windows XP logo then locks up at the Blue Screen. I have not seen the unit, yet. User was uable to provide any error messages.
Are their any special bootup keys or procedure(s) to work around the blue screen to do a system restore of the unit to an earlier date?
Thank you, Peter

The BSOD error was "Processor1_initalization error"
I was unable to resolve the issue with a boot up CD even though I removed everything in the startup including the registry's Run.
I finally did a image restore on the unit which was dated Jan 7th, 2008. The user was a little unhappy but I had suggested many times he do image backups more often. I had configured his machine for image backups all he had to do was plug in a USB drive and start the backup program. He claimed he never had enough time to do backups even at the end of the day. He lost fours days of usage and some data. Since I had setup his notebook to sync his documents and e-mail on the server I was able to restore most of his data and e-mail.
Thanks for the assistance.
Peter
