Question : Outlook 2003 POP-to-IMAP disappointment, is Exchange Server hosting  the solution?

I am using Outlook 2003 and last week I had my domain host convert my email hosting from POP to IMAP so my wife and I can use multiple computers to view, respond to, etc., all of our email, contacts, calendar functions, etc.  The point is to avoid having to copy multiple gig pst files back and forth between various computers.  When I started configuring the IMAP settings I was dismayed to see the "multiple inbox" syndrome that anyone already familiar with such a migration has had to contend with.  The biggest challenge for us is not knowing what we don't know, if you follow...  So, here are my questions:

1 - If we pony up the dollars to further upgrade our mail host to Exchange Server, will that allow us to go back to our familiar single inbox for all accounts that we formerly had with POP mail?

2 - Will our calendar functions migrate to the various client computers we have access these accounts?

3 - Will the setup interface appear like the POP mail configuration, or will there be other issues to contend with?

4 - Are there any other cautions from anyone related to changes we can't simply anticipate (i.e. five accounts, five inboxes, per IMAP conversion)?

Thanks,

Phillip

I deal more with customers that have their own in house exchange server then a hosted exchange. I don't see any downsides to using exchange compared to pop3. Just do your research before signing up, what kind of spam filter they use, do customers ever have trouble connecting to their exchange, maybe ask for a 15 day trial period.
