Question : Stoping an animated gif from freezing

Hi,

My animated gif freezes when I click any link on the page.

I also realized that the background sound stops playing.

Can I get around this?

it worked fine for me in IE and the gif stopped in Netscape.

Then I made a link that went nowhere using:
Click Here for
nothing

and the gif didn't stop.. but as soon as I clicked on the mailto and the mail program opened.. it stopped.

Then I made a link that created a new window:
Click Here for
New window

and the animation didn't stop... so the final conclusion is that when you open an email program (or probably any external program) the animation stops in Netscape.  But opening other windows doesn't affect it.

Now if you want to have a mailto use a cgi script so when the click on the link it opens an email form in  a new browser window and the animation will continue in both IE and Netscape.
