Ok right click on soundmax integrated digital audio and select properties.
in the device status pane it should say.
"This device is working properly.
If you are having problems with this device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter."
and under it it should say "use this device"
while your in device manager make sure there are no yellow exclamation marks. if there are list them here.
you can download the driver for your soundcard here if all else fails.
