Question : Install .net 3.5 on server 2008 r2
I want to install SQL Server 2008 on my new installation of Server 2008 r2 (64 bit).
SQL Server says I must first install .net 3.5. But when I try to install that it says I must do that from within Roles Management.
But the only Role I see that installs .net 3.5 is Application Server... which requires Application Server licensing, which I don't want and which I'm not going to use.
I just want my SQL Server to work. How can I get .net 3.5 on this machine without installing Application Server role?
Thanks.
Answer : Install .net 3.5 on server 2008 r2
MS Server 2008 R2 should contain a subset of .NET framework 3.5. Could you look at Control panel - Programs - Programs and Features? It should allow to install.
