Question : Netbackup Datacenter 3.4
|
|
Hi Gurus,
I have Netbackup Datacenter 3.4 installed on Solaris 2.6.
We wanted to test the import option & Netbackup tar command.
We have taken a test backup on one tape & the catalog on another tape.
After taking the backup,we manually expired the backup data tape using bpexpdate command,it was successful. But when we tried to expire the catalog tape,it gave the following error
"requested media id was not found in NB media database and/or MM volume database".
How do I expire the catalog tape.
Now, I was trying to import the catalog image from the tape,it gives the following error
" cannot read media header, may not be Netbackup media or is corrupted".
Hence I am not able to import the images.. Is there any way out ?
Then I tried the steps mentioned by veritas on their site for using tar command to restore the data. Now my problem is as the backup data tape has expired,I am not able to get into the tape. I tried using
mt -f /dev/rmt/0 stat
it says "/dev/rmt/0: no tape loaded or drive offline", inspite the tape being available in the tape drive.
Need this help urgently.
Santosh.
