Question : A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer, Error Code 0X8009006
Windows XP SP3, 1Gb Ram, 80Gb HDD
I receive this message when I last rebooted my computer. The weird thing is, I have been using this computer with no problems for the past 2 years with no problems then one day I start it and Receive this error. This error appears for each user. I have tried the following with no success:
http://support.microsoft.c
om/kb/9142
32/en-us
http://support.microsoft.c
om/?kbid=3
10794
I did not image this pc nor have I adjusted the partition tables. I can log into Safe mode without issue just not safe mode with network support. When I try Safe mode with network I get the same error. This pc is an older laptop and I do not have a cd drive for it but prolly will pick one up at micro center tonight. I can slave the laptop's hdd to my desktop and have successfully run a scandisk with no errors.
Any Suggestions?
and please if your suggestion is to re-install the OS I would prefer not to.
