Question : Challenging Trojan! - downloader.delf.2.BC
|
|
Hi,
I am having problems with a Trojan called "downloader.delf.2.BC".
Symptoms: -No behavioral problems but my anti virus program keeps telling me I have the virus when I use windows explorer. -The virus is stemming from c:\Documents and Settings\simon\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\content.ie5 -When it runs it puts a file called Win.exe in the windows directory.
Actions so far: -Deleted all temporary internet files including offline content. -Emptied recycle bin -Updated and ran AVG anti virus all it does is delete the win.exe file and then it returns every time I use windows explorer. -Updated and ran AdAware didnt find anything -Rebooted into DOS mode deleted al files in the c:\Documents and Settings\simon\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\content.ie5 directory and I deleted the c:\windows\win.exe file. This worked and even when I opened up windows explorer but then I opened up internet explorer it all came back again!
Please can someone help me remove the Trojan source. I have trawled the internet, google and virus sites but cant find anything that matches what I have.
Many thanks in advance.

I've had very good luck with scanning with http://www.pandasoftware.com/virus_info/
on the far lower left is "Free Online Scanner"
Panda finds and deletes Trojans from the net. What it can't delete, it will identify the exact file. You then manually delete it.
I have found that Panda will find Trojans that neither Symantec nor McAfee identify. Especially those that come from malware.
