Question : Benefits of Restarting your computer.

i have a 300 users (Windows XP OS)

i want to send them an email about the benefits of computer restarting and im unable to find any article on the net.

the reason i want to send this is because i have many users who havnt restart their machines for 1 month and more and this will prevent them from the new group policy updates.

There's loads...

For 1 (the main one that would get noticed) is the performance of any PC drops slowly the longer it's left on, due to processes and applications eating through more and more memory/processor resources as time goes by.

A restart cleans the slate, ensuring that the PC will be running at it's best. (so they should shutdown every night, to ensure the best performance for each day).

However no doubt they'll just moan that it's running slower than ever (due to extra drrain on resources for the first few mins of logging on while everything starts), so if I were you I'd just tell them to start doing it or else! :)
