Question : Paint Shop Pro 8 GIF Transparency Issue
Hi, I have created images with transparent backgrounds and am encountering some problems.
When I save the file as a .psp or .psd file, the transparency of the background is preserved.
Unfortunately, when I save the same file as a .gif file with the option where I state that I would like the existing image or layer transparency to remain transparent, when I look at the saved file, the background appears to be black instead of transparent.
Has anyone seen this happen before?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Answer : Paint Shop Pro 8 GIF Transparency Issue
I would reinstall the program. I hate to use this solution, because I always feel when others suggest it they are doing so because they don't have any real solution. In this case, I don't have any real solution either.
I posted a notice on the PaintShop pro forum and got now response, other than to reinstall.
I could not find any mention of similar problems anywhere in their knowledge base, or anywhere on the web. My suspicion is that the the section of the code that deals with GIFs has become corrupted. If so, a reinstall should fix it.
Other than that, I am at a loss.
