Question : Is there any way to know whether email has been read.

Before asking this question I must say that I am not asking this question because I want to send spam mail. I am asking this because of a resaon which you may guess what could be for a twenty something year old...

My question is is there any way to know whether recipient has read mail I sent. There are these limitations.

1. Images cannot be inserted because graphics has been disalbed. So I cannot use img tag to with some server side script.
2. Javascript cannot be used because email client replaces it with some meaning less text. So preloading images doesn't work.
3. Iframes are removed from mail.
4. Email client doesn't send receipts for messages received and read.

Is there any other way left which I can use to try to know whether mail has been read or not.

Please help.
