Question : Make changes to Normal.dot template

I had this problem before... but can't remember how to fix it.

I reinstalled Office 2003.   In Word, I want to customize my toolbar and change my default font.   Every time I reopen Word, the font has been reset and the newly added icons have disappeared.  

I remember that it is somehow related to the Normal.dot template.   How can I modify the template so that it retains all changes?

Answer : Make changes to Normal.dot template

Make sure that you have the necessary NTFS permissioins to wtite to the normal.dot template and that it is not marked as 'read only'. You can find the location of normal.dot by looking in Tools->Options->File Locations.
