Question : Installing english version of Office on Chinese version of Windows Vista - is it possible
I want to know if it is possible to install an english version of MS Office on a Chinese version of Windows Vista (Business) I bought MS Office 2003 Student and Teacher edition in the UK some years ago - it allows installation on three home machines. I now live in China and want to buy a particular Sony Vaio model for my wife which comes only with Chinese version of Windows Vista My wife can read Chinese so Chinese OS is no problem (Anytime upgrade to Ultimate version of Vista is not yet available in China - that will presumably give possibility to change language of interface to english in the future). But the question is whether you can activate and run English Office on Chinese version of the Vista OS.

You can install Office 2003 on Vista. Here's a list from U of Penn regarding software that is compatible with Vista (yeah, it only lists software they use, but is pretty informative).
You SHOULD be able to run the English version of Office on Chinese version of Vista. Merete's idea of first installing Office 2003, then the language interface pack is a good one.
