Question : Remote Web Workplace Issues

I have encountered this twice now:

A user logs into the RWW and when they click on the 'control PC' page it comes up with a list of PCs but they are immediately given a pop-up that states the page requires ActiveX to run and that the current setting are insufficient.  The only options on the pop-up are "ok" and once clicked the user is taken back to the previous screen.  This should not be a server related issue as there are other users using the RWW without this issue.  I've ensured that the server is in IE's trusted sites on the workstation encountering the issues and have also gone into the security settings for trusted sites, putting them to custom and either permitting or prompting for all ActiveX related areas, based on the available options.  The first time I ran into this issue I did some google searching and attempted a few of the items that returned, to no avail.

Both times my users were running windows XP at home and did not have any other issues with their systems.

Answer : Remote Web Workplace Issues

Make sure you are changing the ActiveX settings to always or prompt under trusted sites zone. Also make sure when they are going to the site that it is in the trusted sites zone (at the bottom of the browser) in the status bar.

Also make sure they are administrators on their boxes.

One last thing to check is make sure the activex is not still in there. I only have IE8 installed and it is under Programs->Manage Add ons.  I think it is very similar in IE7.
