Question : Remove ticks from Excel sheet

I am downloading some data from the web which comes in hyperlinks. I then remove the hyperlink but it leaves behind what looks like a single apostrophe ahead of each number (see below). I have tried running a CTRL+H to remove the apostrophe but it says it can't find what I am looking for. Any idea how to get rid of the leading ' ?

Answer : Remove ticks from Excel sheet

Hi,

Select the entire range you want the ' to be removed.
Click on the info widget and select convert to number.
the widget is at the top cell of the selection.
The screenshot only has 2 cell's but it works with more cells.

The leading ' means that what follows is text even if it is a number, this is to prevent excel from changing the content of the cell (eg remove leading zero's).

Hope this helps
