Question : Sending performance counter/monitor alerts by email
We are using the connector for lotusnotes to communicate with the rest of a large company. sometimes the connector service stops working - it means the service is running but does not bring mail accress the two systems and the queues are growing.
i'm able to read the performace counters (number of msgs in the queue) and i would like to get a notification by mail when a special treshold is reached.
when i create an alert using performance monitor i can choose different actions. when i check to create a syslog entry it works fine ... but when i also check the "run this programm" and select e.g. a batfile which normaly sends a mail or also choose "clac.exe" nothing happens. when i choose calc.exe - i see only a calc.exe task in the taskmanager but no calc opens ....
doers anybody have an idea how i can send a mail when a counter reaches a treshold????
thx a lot
