Question : Illustrator CS - Error saving .ai file

Hi there,

I'm running Illustrator CS on Mac OSX [G4 PB].  Illustrator has been working perfectly for some time but has recently started producing an error when attempting to save a page as a standard AI file.

I'm able to save as other file types, just the .AI format seems to produce the error which is:

"an unknown error has occurred"  it then goes on to say "can't save preview but all information was saved successfully" [but nothing visible in target location].  Error = -43

I've run updates from Adobe, but the problem still exists.

Any help much appreciated.

First thing I would do is uninstall, then reinstall the program completely.  2nd, have you checked the adobe forums for the problem?

sign up to their adobe site (free) and check the forum, do a keyword search with your error.

Also, if you haven't used adobe's tech support, you should get at least 90 days of tech support for purchasing the software.
